Craig Cannonier - Leader
In 2009 Craig Cannonier joined the Bermuda Democratic Alliance because he valued its inclusiveness. Craig believes that the Alliance is seeking a future shaped by the minds of tomorrow, is grateful for the present, and mindful of our common past.
Craig was born and raised in St David’s, attending St Georges Preparatory school and the Bermuda Institute. After obtaining a BSc in Industrial Psychology from Towson State University in Baltimore, Maryland in 1986, Craig went on to acquire retail management experience in a number of different arenas.

Katherine Michelmore - Deputy Leader
Katherine Michelmore joined the Bermuda Democratic Alliance in 2009, inspired by the opportunity to make a difference.
Katherine grew up in Bermuda attending Dellwood Primary School and Warwick Academy. At about the age of 12 years, Katherine decided she wanted to be a doctor and from that point pursued her goal. Katherine attended Newcastle Medical School before moving to Oxford University as Bermuda’s Rhodes Scholar. Katherine completed a PhD thesis in epidemiology, which is the study of how and why diseases affect different populations, and later decided that she wanted to become a General Practitioner.

Michael Fahy - Party Chairman
Michael is a founding member of the Bermuda Democratic Alliance. He is an Attorney, Notary Public, Justice of the Peace and Accredited Mediator.
After graduating from Saltus Grammar School, Michael studied in Canada and the UK, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) ('97) and a Post Graduate Diploma in law ('99). Michael was then added to the roll of solicitors in England and Wales and was called to the Bermuda Bar in 2001. He trained and practiced in a London City law firm from 1999 to 2004 returning to Bermuda with his wife, Fozeia, after taking six months to travel to Sri Lanka, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, the West Coast of the United States and Trinidad and Tobago.

Alex DeCouto - Caucus Chairman
In 2009 Alex DeCouto joined the Bermuda Democratic Alliance and serves as Caucus Chairman and sits on the Economic Platform Subcommittee.
Alex has lived on Burchall’s Cove in Hamilton Parish for 27 years. Alex attended Mt. St. Agnes Academy before heading to Toronto where he studied construction management at George Brown College in Toronto. He then obtained an MBA in construction and estate planning from the College of Estate Planning at the University of Reading in the UK, along with a RICS post graduate diploma in project management.

Donte Hunt - MP
Donte Hunt joined the Bermuda Democratic Alliance in 2009 in order to forge a better way for Bermuda.
Donte was born in Bermuda in 1977 and is the second son of Allan and Mildred Hunt. He was schooled at Francis Patton, the Berkeley Institute, Bermuda College and North Carolina State University where he earned a BA in Business Administration. After he was married, Donte and his wife attended Tyndale College and Seminary in Toronto, Ontario where they studied Post Graduate Theology.

Mark Pettingill - MP
In 2009, Mark Pettingill became a founding member of the Bermuda Democratic Alliance as he continues to strive for a better Bermuda.
Mark is a prominent lawyer in the community having been a Crown Counsel, Defense Attorney and Acting Magistrate since being called to the Bar in 1991. In 1999, Mark became a Senator and was appointed Justice of the Peace.

Shawn Crockwell - MP, House Leader
In 2009 Shawn Crockwell became a founding member of the Bermuda Democratic Alliance. Shawn is also the House Leader fro the party as well as the spokesperson for Transport.
He currently serves as a Member of Parliament for Pembroke West, Constituency # 19 after being elected in December 2007. In addition to a political career, Shawn is an Associate at the law firm of Mello Jones & Martin in the litigation group and advises on a broad range of general civil, matrimonial and criminal matters.

R. Wayne Scott

R. Wayne Scott is one of the founding members of the Bermuda Democratic Alliance, formed in 2009 to give Bermuda’s people a voice.
Wayne was born on to Reginald and Minna (nee Pearman) Scott. He spent his early years living in Massachusetts before returning to Bermuda where he attended the Bermuda Institute. He grew up on Spice Hill Road near Warwick Holiness Church and now lives on Ord Road. Wayne considers Warwick his home.

Dueane Dill
Dueane joined the Bermuda Democratic Alliance in 2009 after being impressed by the party’s vision for a new Bermuda based on inclusion, unification and transparency.
Dueane Stephen Dill has worked in the international insurance market for over 25 years and is currently a Vice President at Atlantic Security Limited, an independent insurance management company. As a proud graduate of Berkeley Institute, Dueane continued his education at the Bermuda College and at the University of Maryland extension programme, held on the former US Naval Base here in Bermuda. Dueane obtained his Associate in Reinsurance and Associate in Risk Management from the American Institute of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters Association via the Bermuda Insurance Institute.

Michael Branco - NEC Member
Michael Branco
Michael Branco was born and raised in Bermuda. Michael attended school at Saltus until traveling abroad for university. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Computer Science at the University of Western Ontario, pursued graduate diploma studies in Computer Science at Stanford University and earned his MBA from Richard Ivey Business School.
After university, Michael returned to Bermuda where he initially worked for Butterfield Bank in Electronic Security and then he moved to Ernst & Young as a consultant. However, he then embarked on his path into technology start-up companies and most notably founded Fireminds Ltd. He is now the Senior Vice President of Ignition, a technology solutions company.

Granville Gibbons
Granville Gibbons joined the Bermuda Democratic Alliance in 2009 as he was drawn to the party’s commitment to find solutions to the issues of the day without focusing on race or opposing government for the sake of being an opposition party.
Granville has led a successful career in the accounting and banking industry in Bermuda and Canada. As a youngster Granville attended East End Primary School and St David’s Primary School before receiving a government scholarship to attend Saltus Cavendish School. Upon graduation, Granville headed to Northampton School in Massachusetts where he was selected to the Deans list and graduated with Honours. Granville furthered his education at Queens University in Kingston Ontario where he obtained a BA. On his return to Bermuda, Granville began working at the accounting firm of Cooper & Lines before joining Charles Kempe & Co.
