Craig Cannonier - Leader Bermuda Democratic Alliance

The Bermuda Democratic Alliance has much to be proud of concerning it's performance within the House of Assembly this past Friday.

First I must say "Well Done" to our MP's Donte Hunt, Mark Pettingill and Shawn Crockwell on their tireless efforts and dedication to representing the Bermuda Democratic Alliance concerning the recent Municipalities bill. Having experienced and shared your passion, then to watch you agonize over a bill that clearly caused many discomfort and even pain, it was good to have shared the time with you.

It was evident that as you presented our position you commanded the attention of everyone in the "HOUSE".  To see MP's rushing over to you wanting to understand our position more clearly through the amendments we proposed was evidence that the BDA's stance was on the right path.

I witnessed you all (in particular Mark) receive accolades from both PLP and UBP on your speeches.  It was also evident that the PLP MP's were wrestling with the Bill and were looking for something to assist them.  Hence the attention you received.  I do know that PLP unanimously voted for the Bill for their own political reason minus the amendments we proposed however, the impact of your dedication to ensure that all legislation is fair, right and good for all Bermudians is to be commanded.
